Drone Survey Services
StreamWise services include expertise in aerial drone surveys to produce Digital Elevation Models (DEM) and Digital Terrain Models (DTM) that depict project topography. The high-resolution aerial imagery is taken from a grid pattern flown at low altitude, then stitched together to produce a very high-resolution image with GIS-based ortho-digital coordinates. This product is superior to satellite imagery for detailed restoration design and elevation estimates.
In addition, the drone imagery can be used to calculate cut and fill balance on projects where erosional gullies require fill material for restoration. The drone flight can also be programmed to collect a video clip of the flight path for initial reconnaissance, or to document habitat conditions along a stream.
